Since I choose not partake in any “social networking” sites, I just wanted Perla to post up a picture of what an awesome 7th Anniversary / Father’s Day gift I received from her and Luke. It is a framed gyotaku (Japanese fish rubbing) print from Hawaii by an artist named Naoki. The papio (jack) and oama (goatfish) remind me of the special times as a kid back in the late 70’s when I would go fishing with my cousins at Wailupe Beach Park. I was lucky enough to catch both species and for those of you that really know me, of course I ate them. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to receive such a beautiful, thoughtful and memorable gift. Te quiero mucho Perla y Luke. Marc

Christmas 2012
This has to have been one of the most fun yet most stressful Christmas ever! Not only was work a bit rocky for me but running around after a 2 year old as most of you know, is no walk in the park. Luke ignored the presents under the tree for the most part up until he figured out what was inside the bags and wrapping paper. We did "child proof" our tree ahead of time so i was able to keep him out of the gifts and away from pulling on the ornaments.
We had a couple of "pre-xmas" celebrations so come Christmas- Luke had the present opening down. He was showered with gifts as usual. We have a very lucky kid!
Our visit to Santa Clara was fun but exhausting with trying to fit time in to visit family and friends.
It was really fun watching Luke get excited as he opened every gift!

Beach Day
Luke experienced his first official beach day. Although we have taken him to the beach in the past, it has been a quick stop as we are "passing by" or to walk on the pier. Going to the beach with a (almost) 2 year old is quite a change from our past beach experiences. Gone are the relaxing days of bringing reading material and napping in the sun. Luke was so excited to be there and had tons of fun playing in the water. He was knocked down by the waves a few times but it didn't stop him from going back in. He's a brave kid!
We are going through quite a heat wave these days. Not sure if we'll be making another trip to the beach any time soon as it was exhausting and a bit nerve wrecking for mommy and daddy.

Happy 5 Year Anniversary to Us!
Yep, its been 5 years since we got married and I have yet to order our wedding photos. Gasp! Life has been so busy these days that we decided to slow down a bit and go on a quick getaway to Palm Springs to celebrate our 5 years as a married couple. Luke had a great time at the kiddie pool. He was so happy to be able to touch the pool floor. There were other couples there with small children so he even made a few friends. The weather got as hot as 113 degrees. HOT! We were still able to over come the heat and enjoy ourselves even if it was just a quick three day weekend.
Luke is now 21 months old. He is such an active kid and really keeps us on our toes. He loves to sing and watch Yo Gaba Gaba and Franklin. Although TV isnt recommended at this age, it helps us get chores done around the house as he stays occupied. We are eager for summer to come so that Luke can enjoy some time at the beach.

A Mothers Day Letter to Luke
Dear Luke,
Today I get to celebrate being your mommy and even though you are still too young to understand & express yourself I think cuddling up next to me in the middle of the night or early in the morning is your way of letting me know that you dig me.
Your giggle, the way you say Bah-bye or sing your ABC's is a constant joy for me. I look forward to watching you grow and the many adventures we will have together.
Thanks for letting me be your mom. I love you.
